About God and People" sets forth in great clarity a few basic things about the spiritual life. This book is an attempt to introduce the reader to prayer and to the God to whom we belong in the clearest and simplest terms. This is mostly a book of devotion. As we grow in our devotion and knowledge of him, he makes himself known more and more to us.
About the Author: Father Frank Dearing was ordained as a deacon by the right Reverend Frank Juhan in 1933 and then as a priest in 1934. Everybody who loved him knew him as Dedaddy. He went to the University of the South in Sewanee Tennessee and was Chaplin at an overseas Naval Base during World War II in England. Fr. Frank was an Episcopal clergyman and rector at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Crescent City Florida, St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Church of the Good Shepherd, Holy Cross, St. David's, and St. Peter's all in Jacksonville. Fr. Frank married his wife, Lady Claire in 1935. Fr. Frank was known affectionately as the priests priests. If there was a priest in the diocese that needed advise or prayer, Fr. Frank was the person they would call. Fr. Frank was also one of the early teachers of The Healing Ministry here in North Florida . He taught many people about inner healing, spiritual healing, and how to pray throughout generations. He was a published author and wrote many books teaching about our relationships with God and each other. Fr. Frank had many hobbies that kept him busy. He was an amateur archaeologist, a handyman, a master carpenter and an avid bottle collector but his one love, other than his beloved wife, was his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Quiet time was spent in the garden every morning and every aspect of his life revolved around serving the Lord. He went to be with the Lord in 1989 but people are still learning from him through his books, a few of which are still in print. |
